The most recent advice I read suggest you should create an empty mod in MO2, & then configure the OBMM launch settings so that all files it 'creates' go into that rather than the overwrite directory.

Theoretically (it didnt work amazingly well for me) you can install the Oblivion Mod Manager (aka OBMM) & then run that from within MO2 to install OMOD files.

OBMM should open up and you will see Darnidifed UI in the box on the right. Computer-> Local Disc-> Program Files (x86 for 64 bit) Steam-> SteamApps-> common-> Oblivion-> Data After you place the Omod into the Data folder, click on it.
